Taking Control - Our Right to Information: people with neurological conditions speak out This report, produced in 2008 by the Neurological Alliance, Ask About Medicines and the ABPI, draws on a specially commissioned survey of 1001 people with neurological conditions and a series of focus groups. It shows how information can transform the quality of life of people with neurological conditions, highlights the difficulty many people have in getting access to good quality information even though it is readily available from a variety of sources, and sets out what needs to be done to close this unnecessary information gap. The report contains many quotes, facts and figures drawn from the focus groups and the survey, and demonstrates that people with neurological conditions see patient groups, other patients, specialist doctors and specialist nurses as sources of useful and valued information.

Cancer Information Maze Report
Every day in the UK, 740 people find out they have cancer but, according to new research, almost two thirds do not fully understand what their diagnosis means. The 'Cancer Information Maze' report, published jointly by CancerBACUP, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) and Ask About Medicines, concludes that people who have cancer feel lost in a maze of information and are failing to understand their condition.
