Finding and Using Information About Health and Medicines
Hot off the Ask About Medicines press is our new publication “Finding and Using Information about Health and Medicines – a guide for patients, medicine users and carers”.  Previously known as the Health and Medicines Information Guide and Directory, the booklet has been entirely revised in a completely new, more accessible edition, using plain English, larger print and a cleaner design.  Packed with useful advice on how to find, judge the quality of and make best use of information about health and medicines, it also contains an updated and expanded directory of websites covering a wide range of health conditions.

It is available at http://www.askaboutmedicines.org/Homepage/Information_Directory/default.aspx, where you can either download the pdf or access the directory section online.  For people who for whatever reason don’t have access to or can’t easily use computers, hard copies can be ordered from abpi@edist.co.uk (tel 01795 427 614).

The booklet was produced in partnership with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) who also covered the costs.  We are grateful to them and to the Editorial Board: Ruth Carlyle of Macmillan Cancer Support, Beverley van der Molen of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Beki Moult of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust, David Taylor of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Sarah Richardson of Datapharm Communications, Martina Bohn for the ABPI and Melinda Letts for Ask About Medicines.
