Joint Winners
FD Santé and Baxter Healthcare
There are approximately 6,500 people in the UK living with haemophilia A, many of whom are children. FD Santé and Baxter Healthcare developed the Haemophiliacare website for people living with haemophilia A and their families. As some people with haemophilia only see their doctor every six months it is important to have a resource they can use to help them understand more about their condition and its treatment. If people and carers understand more about medicines for haemophilia they can avoid the bone and joint complications that can lead to hospitalisations, especially in young children.

Biogen Idec - The Avonex Plus programme
Research has shown that people with MS are often confused and overwhelmed at the time of diagnosis of the disease and during treatment. The Avonex Plus programme produced by Biogen Idec helps people with MS understand their treatment through a short DVD, 24/7 helpline, website, newsletters and patient information materials. These services are designed to provide help and advice to patients from first diagnosis of the disease through living with MS and taking treatments in the long term. Patient Diaries are used to help a person record symptoms and relapses over a period of time and discuss them next time they see a health professional. And the patient ‘passport’ enables people to travel abroad with needles and medication.47 secs aprox.

Joint Runners Up
Lloydspharmacy - 'Keep your methodone safe' information leaflet
Lloydspharmacy has, for many years, been involved in various services to meet the needs of drug users including needle exchange schemes and the supply of drug substitutes (methadone and buprenorphine) through NHS dispensing. Lloydspharmacy developed an information leaflet targeted at take-home methadone users. The leaflet ‘Keep your methadone safe’ contains useful easy to read information for safe storage for those take home doses. Following on from the success of the methadone safety leaflet, the ‘Don’t Overdose’ leaflet was produced with a third leaflet - ‘Safer injecting’ – also produced for distribution through the needle exchange pharmacies. ‘Looking after your health’ was produced in late 2007; it combines all three previous drug misuse information leaflets and provides additional advice on sexual health and healthy lifestyle.
