Ask About Medicines is designed to promote partnership and is itself based on principles of partnership and co-operation between organisations that subscribe to the values of Ask About Medicines. Some, but not all, of these organisations are able to offer funding as well as association with their name.

To safeguard transparency and objectivity in decision-making, the Directors of AAMW Ltd have adopted the following sponsorship policy.

We believe that dialogue and communication with companies that make and sell medicines is in the interests of medicines users. Many organisations with a commercial interest in medicines are willing and able to offer funds to organisations such as Ask About Medicines. We accept these funds on the basis that:

• the principles and values of Ask About Medicines are not compromised by any requirements on the funder’s part
• decisions about Ask About Medicines activities, messages and publications rest with the Directors of AAMW Ltd, the non-profit company behind Ask About Medicines
• the results of any sponsor-funded research carried out in the name of Ask About Medicines will belong, either wholly or on a shared basis, to Ask About Medicines and may be used only with the express consent of the Ask About Medicines Directors
• the name of Ask About Medicines Week may not be used to imply approval or endorsement of any products or policies of any sponsor, unless with the prior explicit written consent of the Ask About Medicines Week Directors.
